After the release of Android 4.4.2 Jellybean by Google a race amongst the OEM’s began as to who will be bringing the update first to their devices. After the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 GPe receiving the updates, Motorola was one of the first companies to make the update available for its devices.
After the Motorola Moto X receiving the 4.4.2 update it is now time for the owners of its younger sibling the Moto G to taste the flavours of Android KitKat.

- Phone dialler : Improved the phone app with the ability to look up contacts directly from the dial pad, see and tap frequent contacts and search your corporate directory easily.
- Gallery – Photo editing : Added new photo editing options to the Gallery app including new filter effects, draw on your photos, advanced cropping and adjustments to colour, exposure, contrast and more.

With OEM’s like Samsung, Sony, HTC and LG already planning the road map for delivering the latest and the greatest to its devices it is great to see Motorola leading the race by upgrading two of its devices to Android 4.4. One of the major reasons for such an early release could be the almost stock like experience available on the Motorola devices and also because of most of the system applications being converted to standalone applications.
