With the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung brought in the trend of Octa Core processing. But this was not true Octa Core processing as we saw that at a time only 4 cores were active while the remaining cores remained inactive.
Now according to the rumours, Samsung is working on a Hexa Core processor based on the similar principle. Based on ARM’s big small technique, it has a powerful Dual Core processor and a weaker Quad Core processor.
The information was leaked by the folks at GSM Arena who got their hands on the internal product positioning document.
Click to view slideshow.The entire package has a 1.7GHz Dual Core processor and a 1.3GHz Quad Core processor. While the power hungry cores will be used by more demanding applications like games, the lower clocked cores will be used for less demanding applications saving power.
All this seems exceptionally great on paper but we are yet to determine its true performance in real life situations.
